Why EHRs

Electronic Health Records (EHRs) provide a quick and effective way to coordinate care for those with co-occurring medical and mental health issues.  Click below to learn how EHRs work and understand how behavioral health IT can make the world of difference for those across the nation.

We advocate for implementation of the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) demonstration portions of the SUPPORT for Patients and Communities Act (P.L. 115-271) that enablesbehavioral health and related providers to fully utilize technology, including Electronic Health Records, for coordinated, integrated care. Without behavioral health IT incentives, the providers participating in these three MAT programs will be unable to safely and adequately coordinate care for their patients.
